How it started:
On Saturday October 4, 2014, a group of 30 Catholic men came together in the Diocese of Victoria, BC, Canada, to discuss their faith and the need for men (who are also fathers, husbands, grandfathers, uncles and brothers) to come together for fellowship and conversations in faith.
Generally speaking, we acknowledge men do not share their faith easily; in fact they have difficulty engaging in deep personal conversations, period. We realize that we do indeed need to have conversations in faith and fellowship about our lives as men, husbands and fathers, and we want to be able to engage each other in dialogue and trust.
These opinions were confirmed by the various men in attendance following brief presentations by Fr. William Hann and Chris Burke, a Lay Advocate. The men unanimously offered their support to create and maintain a monthly gathering of men for fellowship, and to have conversations in and about their faith. These gatherings will be held various Saturdays throughout Fall, Winter and Spring as scheduled, running from 8 – 10 am. The first hour will be devoted to fellowship and breakfast, followed by an interactive presentation and open discussions.
